Custom-made Clothing Process
Consultation
Book a consultation to discuss your ideas and receive expert advice.
We will take all relevant measurements and several concepts will be discussed with you until we find the perfect fit for you.
Design & Quote
You will receive a concept drawing of your custom garment along with a quote, so that you can make an informed decision on the best way to proceed with your custom garment.
We’ll tweak your design until it is just right. Once approved, you’ll pay the deposit and I’ll get started on your garment.
Patternmaking & Toiling (mock up)
I will start making the pattern for your garment, which may then need to be mocked up in basic calico.
We will discuss whether or not this is a necessary step during your consultation.
Initial Fitting
After the toile of your garment has been completed, I will be in touch to arrange a fitting.
If no toile is required, we will fit your garment on you after cutting and sewing your fabric.
If your garment is close fitting, you may need more than one fitting to ensure everything fits correctly.
Fabric & Trim Sourcing
Select the fabric of your dreams based on expert advice on what fabrics will be suitable and achieve the best result.
If you would like my assistance whilst fabric shopping, this service is offered as an additional extra.
Amendments and Finalizing
Once the initial fitting has been completed, I’ll make sure your pattern is amended accordingly, ready to be cut out of your beautiful fabrics.
Cutting & Sewing
I’ll put all the pieces together and construct your garment to exceed your requirements with excellent quality finishing.
Final Fitting
Once your garment has been sewn, I will contact you for the final fitting.
This fitting will be done before the garment is 100% completed, just in case any slight changes are required. Your garment will then be completed.
Garment Pickup
You will be notified when your garment is ready for collection, and emailed the invoice.
Then you will be able try on the finished garment, ensuring that you are happy with the end result before you take it home.
